De Joodse David Vos was journalist van Het Handelsblad en begon zijn loopbaan als kantoorbediende. Hij woonde tijdens de bezetting met zijn gezin aan de Christiaan de Wetstraat in Amsterdam-Oost. Hij was lid van de Parool-groep, een verzetsgroep rondom de in de oorlog opgerichte, ondergrondse krant Het Parool. Vos werd in september 1941 opgepakt en opgesloten in het Huis van Bewaring aan de Weteringschans. Om onbekende redenen werd hij naar de strafgevangenis in Scheveningen gestuurd. Via de kampen Amersfoort, Vught en Westerbork werd hij op transport gesteld naar Auschwitz. Drie dagen later werd hij na aankomst meteen in de gaskamers vermoord. Hij liet een vrouw en een dochter na.

David Vos, Jewish, was a journalist for Het Handelsblad and started his career as an office clerk. During the occupation he lived with his family on the Christiaan de Wetstraat in Amsterdam East. He was member of the Parool group, a resistance group around the war-established Dutch newspaper

Het Parool. Vos was arrested in September 1941 and imprisoned in the House of Detention on the Weteringschans. For unknown reasons he was sent to the penal prison in Scheveningen. After being held at the Amersfoort, Vught and Westerbork camps, he was then deported to Auschwitz. Three days later he was murdered in the gas chambers. He left a wife and a daughter behind.
