The portal on the west side was added in 1659 on the instructions of Jacob van Campen, the master builder of, amongst other things, the Palace on the Dam Square in Amsterdam. The interior contains a pulpit from 1649. The organ, built in 1629, was moved from the Pieterskerk to the Marekerk in 1733.
