1. Marekerk Marker
Inscription.  
Achthoekige kerk als eerste voor de protestantse eredienst gebouwd tussen 1639 en 1649 door de stadsarchitect Arent van s-Graversande. Het portaal aan de westzijde is in 1659 toegevoegd op aanwijzingen van Jacob van Campen. Hij is de bouwmeester van onder meer het Paleis op de Dam. In het interieur bevindt zich een preekstoel uit 1649. Het orgel, gebouwd in 1629, werd in 1733 van de Pieterskerk naar de Marekerk verplaatst.

First church built between 1639 and 1649 for the Reformed congregation.

Octagonal church, the first built for Protestant worship between 1639 and 1649 by the city architect Arent van s-Graversande. The portal on the west side was added in 1659 on the instructions of Jacob van Campen, the master builder of, amongst other things, the Palace on the Dam Square in Amsterdam. The interior contains a pulpit from 1649. The organ, built in 1629, was moved from the Pieterskerk to the Marekerk in 1733.
