Koopman en ontdekkingsreiziger uit Venetiλ die beroemd is geworden door zijn reizen naar het Verre Oosten. Hij was de eerste Europeaan die over deze landen schreef. Het werk wordt later bekend onder de naam Il Milione ofwel het 'Boek der miljoen wonderen'.

English translation:

Merchant and explorer from Venice who became famous for his travels to the Far East. He was the first European to write about these countries. The work later became known as Il Milione or the 'Book of Million Wonders'.
