Galaría de Arte [de Trinidad], una institución y su historia. In Spanish. Excerpt, translated:
Antonio Herr y Grau created masterly portraits of famous Cubans and other works of great importance to this city. The artistic products of this painter encompasses both mural and easel paintings. His work remains relevant as that of a self-taught painter who by observation followed academic standards. This Trinidadian painter of the last quarter of the 19th century transcended the limits of his time, not just for his aesthetic values but also for his work as an artist training other local artists and as a promoter of culture at a time when the city survived in abject poverty.
