Excerpt (in translation): In the autumn of 1944, the Home Front's leadership started the excavation of war quarters and shelter in the basement under Sofies gate 46-48. The "Bunkersen" was to be used as a possible place of refuge for selected members of the Secretariat and HL if there was an escalation of hostilities in connection with the defeat of the Germans.(Submitted on July 1, 2023.)
Through the district management for the home forces in Oslo, the Secretariat had agreed on a connection and communication system between the various departments, as those from the "Bunkersen" had the opportunity to connect to the underground telephone cables. Supplies of provisions, such as food, wood stoves, warm clothes and technical equipment, were delivered via the "Shop" in Uranienborgveien 9.
