Excerpt (in translation): Øvre Slottsgate 3 today houses “The Center”, and is owned and operated by Sparebankstiftelsen DNB. The old bank's public areas and offices have been converted into a cultural space with offices, restaurants and concert halls. Several players in the cultural sector with a need for flexible workplaces rent their space according to sharing principles. The marble hall has been transformed into a concert venue that can accommodate up to 700 people standing. Christiania Sparebank was the country's first savings bank, established in 1822 at Rådhusgaten 7 in Christiania. The original bank building was erected in 1854, but was later demolished. The current building is built of gray granite and designed by Henrik Nissen. Most recently expanded and rebuilt in 1921-23 according to drawings by Henrik Nissen, Jr. The building has several monumental interiors in marble.(Submitted on July 30, 2023.)
