This was the location of Aftenposten (“The Evening Post”), founded in 1860 by publisher Christian Schibsted. The first year the newspaper was called "Christiania Address Sheet" (“Christiania” is Oslo’s previous name). Building constructed 1709. Demolished 1938.

Excerpt (in translation): In 1860, printer Christian Schibsted founded the newspaper Christiania Adresseblad which from 1861 onwards went by its current name, Aftenposten (“The Evening Post”). The newspaper was initially a non-political news and advertising magazine.

Until 1876, the newspaper printing house was located at Dronningensgate 10, and then relocated to Akersgata

51. The newspaper was located there for 127 years, until it was moved to the rebuilt Postgiro building in 2003.

Under editor Amandus Theodore Schibsted, the newspaper experienced a major upswing. He was particularly interested in pure news reporting and press organisations, and played an important role in the development and establishment of these. The newspaper was published during the entire period of occupation, from the state of emergency in 1941, unde a Nazi editor. The newspaper's growth continued, but at the start of the 1980s, was overtaken by VG in terms of circulation.
