Regarding Mark Buehrle. In his 12 seasons as a left-handed starting pitcher for the White Sox, Mark Buehrle authored some of the most memorable moments in the team's history. In 2005, he was one of the top pitchers in baseball in leading the White Sox to their first world championship in 88 years. That season, he finished with a career-low 3.10 earned-run average and was selected as the American League's starting pitcher in the All-Star Game. In that year's World Series, he started game 2 and earned the save in game 3; the White Sox swept the Houston Astros in four games for the title.
In 2007, Buehrle threw the first no-hitter in the history of the Sox's home ballpark (now known as Guaranteed Rate Field), and then two years later he one-upped that with a perfect game. Buehrle played one season with the Miami Marlins and three with the Toronto Blue Jays before retiring after the 2015 season.
