Ken was a highly trained member of 3rd Platoon Team 1 and called Lead Dog by his teammates. One of several combat Long Range Reconnaissance Patrols to begin operating in Vietnam, his 6-man guerrilla warfare team conducted behind enemy lines reconnaissance, intelligence gathering and reporting in the delta, jungles and mountains of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
