1. Coates Bluff Marker
Inscription. Two blocks east is site of Coates Bluff settlement and homes of early area settlers Larkin Edwards, c.1803, James Coates, c.1817, and John McLeod, c.1835. The first local post office was located here in April, 1838.
 
Erected by Caddo Magnet High School History Club.
 
Location. 32° 29.578′ N, 93° 43.453′ W. Marker is in Shreveport, Louisiana, in Caddo Parish. Marker is on Youree Drive Service Road north of East Olive Street, on the right when traveling north. Touch for map. Marker is in this post office area: Shreveport LA 71101, United States of America.
