Inscription. The Imperial Valley Press was established in 1901 with the aid of W.F. Holt in the town of Imperial and was known as the Imperial Press. Mr. Holt moved the paper to the new city of El Centro in 1906 and changed the name to the Imperial Valley Press. The Imperial Valley Press has had many owners over the past 100 years and is today the oldest continuous business in the Imperial Valley, still responsibly chronicling the dat-to-day history of the Imperial Valley.
