Inscription. 1814 British headquarters in Chazy village under Gen. Prevost with his staff of ten officers prior to the Battle of Plattsburgh

Location. 44° 53.458′ N, 73° 26.244′ W. Marker is in Chazy, New York, in Clinton County. Marker is on U.S. 9 (New York State Route 9) 0.1 miles north of Church Street, on the left when traveling north. Touch for map. 2. The Scott Home
quarry that provided stone for the town's first Methodist church. The house was constructed ca. 1810 and is perhaps the most sophisticated example of Federal period architecture in the town of Chazy. The broad fanlight above the front entrance, decorative quoins, and Palladian window would have distinguished it from the more modest homes of the time.
