The most decorated defensive back in LSU history, he was a consensus All-American in 2010 and winner of both the Thorpe and Bednarik Awards. He led an LSU defense that ranked in the top 10 nationally in four categories. He was SEC Defensive Player of the Year and SEC Special Teams Player of the Year in 2010. He was the No. 5 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft by Arizona.
