1. Site of Bank of Sumpter Marker
Inscription. Bank was established in 1899 with a capital stock of $10,000.00. The first officers were A.P. Goss, President and A.H. Goss, Cashier. The bank was destroyed by fire on August 13, 1917 and the vault is all that remains.
 
Erected 1963 by Sumpter Community Club.
 
Location. 44° 44.802′ N, 118° 12.072′ W. Marker is in Sumpter, Oregon, in Baker County. Marker is on Mill Street (County Route 410) near Sumpter Street, on the right when traveling north.
