Regarding General Pablo Yáñez. General Pablo Yánez first joined the Mexican Army as a young recruit in 1852. He continued to move up the ranks, eventually fighting together with Zaragoza against the French at the May 5th Battle of Puebla in 1862 and at many other actions during the Second French Intervention in Mexico.
