Inscription. Second oldest Episcopal Church in constant use in America
 
Erected by Three Village Historical Society.

On August 22, 1777, when wounded Revolutionary War combatants in "The Battle of Setauket" were taken up the hill to Caroline Church, they found shelter from the heat in a building that was already 48 years old.
