More about this marker. Marker is a large metal plaque, mounted knee-high on the brick pedestal which supports the bell. The pedestal, marker and bell are within a small gazebo on the north side of the John Harris Mansion.

The first courthouse was removed in 1860 and the second was built in its location. The second building was removed in 1948.
