Regarding Juan Bandini. This adobe house was constructed about 1827 by Jose and Juan Bandini. As headquarters of Commodore Robert E. Stockton in 1846, it was the place where Kit Carson and Edward Beale delivered their urgent message of December 9, 1846, calling for reinforcements to be rushed to the aid of General Kearny. 1. This site has been designated as California Registered Historical Landmark No.72:
CASA de BANDINI - This adobe house was constructed about 1827 by Josť and Juan Bandini. As headquarters of Commodore Robert F. Stockton in 1846, it was the place where Kit Carson and Edward Beale delivered their urgent message of December 9, 1846, calling for reinforcements to be rushed to the aid of General Kearny.

5. The Cosmopolitan Hotel
Description on Postcard: Albert Seeley built the Cosmopolitan Hotel over the famous Bandini Adobe. The hotel provided comfortable lodging for those who used Seeley's stage service to locations throughout Southern California. Seeley's stable was located behind the hotel.
