"He was the son of Ramon Rodoreda and Bonifaci, of Valls, and of Antònia Santigós, of Barcelona....He composed almost four hundred works of different genres, many of which won awards at the various competitions in which he participated. His most famous work is Virolai de la Mare de Déu de Montserrat (1880), popularly known as the Virolai, with lyrics by Jacint Verdaguer. He continued the work of Clavé after his death (1874)."
