1. Monte Sano Railway Marker
Inscription. The Monte Sano Railway ran from the Huntsville Depot up Monte Sano Mountain along what became Bankhead Parkway through Monte Sano State Park to the 19th century Hotel Monte Sano. The Baldwin Engine and three cars stopped at Laura’s View Station. The Monte Sano Railway connected to the Memphis and Charleston Railway, predecessor to the Southern Railway. Tracks replaced by NARM, 1998.

Location. 34° 44.676′ N, 86° 31.056′ W. Marker is in Huntsville, Alabama, in Madison County. Marker is on Nolen Avenue Southeast east of Chickasaw Drive Southeast, on the left when traveling east. Touch for map. Located just pass the entrance to the Monte Sano State Park. Marker is in this post office area: Huntsville AL 35801, United States of America.
