More about this marker. The stone was placed in this central churchyard to commemorate when the Scottish Parliament sat in the City of Aberdeen 28th – 30th May 2002. The parliament didn't sit at this location.
Regarding The Scottish Parliament. In 2002 the new Scottish Parliament building at Holyrood in Edinburgh had not been finished and it was sitting in the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland building on the Mound in Edinburgh.
The Scottish Parliament had to temporarily find a new home in May 2002
