Inscription. This plaque commemorates the birth of Richard J. Hughes in this house on August 10, 1909. He became Governor of New Jersey from 1962 to 1970. He served as Chief Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court from 1973 to 1979.
 
Erected 2010 by Florence Garden Club and Florence Historical Society.
