Inscription. Est. 1833. Horses hauled granite for the Capitol over a railroad from a quarry 1 miles S.E.
 
Erected 1939 by Division of Archives and History. (Marker Number H 22.)
 
Location. 35° 46.844′ N, 78° 38.291′ W. Marker is in Raleigh, North Carolina, in Wake County. Marker is on North Wilmington Street north of New Bern Avenue, on the left when traveling north. Touch for map. The marker is on the grounds of the NC State Capitol. Marker is in this post office area: Raleigh NC 27601, United States of America.
