1. Thomas McDermott House Marker

Inscription. Thomas McDermott, a local lumberman, built this Queen Anne style house in 1887. McDermott served in the Sixth Minnesota volunteer infantry in the early 1860s. After serving in the military, he worked as an explorer and scout for the lumber industry and later became Superintendent of the Chippewa and Menomonie Railroad.
