Inscription. The Traveler's is the city's oldest surviving hotel. A portion of the present building was first constructed in the late 1890's as "The Landora". Later additions were constructed in 1910 and 1927. The Traveler's Hotel was a stopping point for those using US Route 30. Many performers at the Ceramic Theatre used the hotel. In 1934, FBI Special Agent Melvin Purvis set up his headquarters here while conducting the successful manhunt for "Pretty Boy" Floyd.

Erected 2004 by East Liverpool Rotaty Club and the East Liverpool Chamber of Commerce.
