Inscription. Here in 1874, was built Lake View High School, one of the first township schools in Illinois. Erected in accordance with legislation enacted by General Assembly of 1872 Erected by Chicago’s Charter Jubilee Authenticated by Chicago Historical Society 1937 City of Chicago Incorporated 4th March 1837
