1. Market House Marker
Inscription. Stood on this square from 1815 to 1872. Under the Market, at one end, was the jail. Equipment for fighting fires was kept here. Fairs and other public events were held under its roof.
 
Erected 1954 by Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
 
Location. 39° 48.037′ N, 76° 58.97′ W. Marker is in Hanover, Pennsylvania, in York County. Marker is at the intersection of Broadway and Carlisle St. on Broadway. Touch for map.
