1. Pioneer School Marker
Inscription. First schoolhouse in Rochester was built of wood on this site, 1813. It was replaced by a two-story stone building, 1836, and by this structure, 1873.
 
Erected 1938 by New York State Education Department.
 
Location. 43° 9.29′ N, 77° 36.841′ W. Marker is in Rochester, New York, in Monroe County. Marker is on Fitzhugh St. S., on the left when traveling north. Touch for map.
