More about this marker. As can be seen in the photos, inscription is carved into the rock. It is set back from the roadway and can be seen from the road, but not read. It is not immediately evident that there is an inscription of any kind on the rock.
(Kirk" is Scottish for Church - a fact I've only learned in the last year or so.)
