1. The Pony Express Marker
Inscription. Dayton was an important point on the Pony Express route. The site of the old station is approximately 200 yards northwest near the old firehouse.
 
Erected by the Nevada Pony Express Centennial Committee.
 
Marker series. This marker is included in the Pony Express National Historic Trail marker series.
 
Location. 39° 14.172′ N, 119° 35.36′ W. Marker is in Dayton, Nevada, in Lyon County. Marker is at the intersection of Main Street and Dayton Valley Road, on the right when traveling north on Main Street. Touch for map. Marker is on the southeast corner of the intersection. Marker is in this post office area: Dayton NV 89403, United States of America.
