1. Castle Gate Marker
Inscription.

Constructed in 1803 this was the second of the three new gates into the city. Although originally named New Gate, by the mid 19th century it was known as Castle Gate after the medieval tower house built by the O'Doherty family.
 
Location. 54° 59.803′ N, 7° 19.321′ W. Marker is in Derry-Londonderry, Northern Ireland, in County Londonderry. Marker is at the intersection of Magazine Street and Castle Street, on the right when traveling west on Magazine Street. Touch for map. Marker is on interior of the city wall.
