1. The Most Combat Decorated World War II Soldier Marker
Inscription. In 1980, Lt. Col. Matt Urban, Aug. 25, 1919 [-] March 4, 1995, the most combat decorated World War II soldier, received the Congressional Medal of Honor, three silver stars, five bronze stars, purple heart with 7 oak leaf clusters, from President Jimmy Carter. After his seventh wound he was honorably discharged.

Location. 43° 5.65′ N, 79° 3.407′ W. Marker is in Niagara Falls, New York, in Niagara County. Marker is at the intersection of Main Street (New York State Route 104) and Pine Avenue (U.S. BUS 62), on the right when traveling south on Main Street. Touch for map. Marker is on a triangular green space known as Wright Park or Cenotaph Park or Veterans Memorial Park. Marker is along the Main Street sidewalk between Pine Aveneue and Park Place. Marker is in this post office area: Niagara Falls NY 14302, United States of America.
