The previous municipal government of Santa Tecla was to install a monument to the disaster here, but it has yet to be installed.

4. Las Colinas landslide
A January 13, 2001 earthquake of 7.6M caused a massive landslide in this part of Santa Tecla. Hundreds of people died in this landslide and due to other damage caused by the earthquake.
