1. Brevort Marker
Inscription. This village, situated at the west end of 12 miles of unexcelled sand beach, was named for Henry Brevoort, Jr., 1845 surveyor; originally known as "The Warehouse," when the Mackinaw Lumber Company, which came here in 1875, built a large depot for supplies brought by sailing craft. Commercial fishing followed lumbering.
 
Erected 1961 by Erected by Township of Moran; approved by the Michilimackinac Historical Society.
 
Location. 46° 1.181′ N, 85° 2.389′ W. Marker is in Brevort, Michigan, in Mackinac County. Marker is at the intersection of U.S. 2 and Fisherman's Drive, on the right when traveling east on U.S. 2.
