1. Roosevelt Marker
Inscription. Originally named O’Hara’s Switch. Renamed Roosevelt in honor of President Theodore Roosevelt, who hunted bear in the area in October, 1907. He recorded his adventures here in an article entitled "In the Louisiana Canebrakes."
 
Erected 1982 by Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism.
 
Location. 32° 34.233′ N, 91° 10.931′ W. Marker is in Roosevelt, Louisiana, in East Carroll Parish. Marker is on U.S. 65 1.1 miles north of Henderson Loop Road (Parish Road 1122), on the right when traveling north. Touch for map. Marker is in this post office area: Sondheimer LA 71276, United States of America.
