Inscription.
3001-3003 M Street was built as a single dwelling in 1794 by Thomas Sim Lee twice Governor of Maryland, 1779-1782 and 1792-1794. Lee also owned the adjoining land which he sold to Andrew Ross and Robert Getty who, in 1810, built 3005-3011 M Street and 1206-1210 Thirtieth Street.
