Inscription. Educator, minister, & physician. Operated famous "Caldwell Log College" near here from 1767 till 1824. Home site of Dr. David and Rachel Caldwell 100 yards West, donated by Mr. & Mrs. Edward Benjamin to North Carolina Society for The Preservation of Antiquities.
