Con la construcción del mercado en el año 1948, se decide también abrir la calle 63-A como vía peatonal paralela a la 63 y la 65, situada en medio de ambas, en su tramo comprendido entre las calles 58 y 60, deciden construir en ella locales para los comerciantes de la época.

Las obras comienzan en el año 1949 y concluyen en 1952. La calle, hoy un inconfundible enclave del comercio meridiano, lleva el nombre de Don Emilio Seijo Rubio (1875-1953), comerciante español que promovió el comercio en Yucatán y practicó la filantropía.

This street is today the unmistakable enclave of Merida commerce and bears the name of Mr. Emilio Seijo Rubio (1875-1953), a Spanish merchant who promoted trade in Yucatan and was known for his philanthropy. The work for its opening began in the year 1949 and concluded in 1952.
