18th U.S. Infantry, 1st Battalion - Captain R.E.A. Crofton,
18th U.S. Infantry, 1st Battalion - Captain George W. Smith,

About two o'clock p.m. General Baird's Division was assembled on this line, King's Brigade covering the road from McDonald's house to the ground where the battle opened. About 4 o'clock Scribner's and Starkweather's Brigades were sent forward to the field of their morning fighting to support Johnson's Division then much in advance of the general line. King's Brigade remained in this position until 2 o'clock in the morning when it moved across the Kelly field. At daylight it again moved forward and took position as the left of General Baird's line around, and in advance of, the northwest corner of that field.
