About 9 a.m. moved to the left and rear following Captain Schultz Battery; took several positions on the hills in the woods, as ordered by General Negley without firing. The Battery opened but once, firing not over 50 rounds, silencing a battery in its front. Soon after noon was ordered to the rear by General Negley, and encamped for the night at Rossville.
