1. Hazel Grove - Fairview Trail Marker
Inscription. This trail leads to Fairview, a key Union position. The fighting that occurred between here and Fairview on May 3, 1863, was some of the most desperate of the war—exceeding, for the time engaged, both Antietam and Gettysburg. Signs along the trail describe the bitter struggle here.
