Inscription.   George Sand trouva refuge dans cette maison lors de son procès en séparation de son mari le baron Casimir Dudevant en 1836

Le 25 mai 1836, elle écrivait à son amie Marie D'Agoult: "un jardin de quatre toises carrées, plein de roses et une terrasse assez spacieuse pour y faire dix pas en long, me servent de salon, de cabinet de travail... Je fais un nouveau volume à Lélia".


[English translation:]

In 1836, George Sand found refuge in this house during her trial separation from her husband, Baron Casimir Dudevant.

On May 25, 1836, she wrote to her friend, Marie D'Agoult: "a garden of four square toises (a toise = ~2 yards or 1.95m), full of roses and a terrace spacious enough to take ten steps in length, serves me as a living room and study ... I am writing a new volume of Lélia".
