Inscription. An excellent example of a country house in the British classical tradition, this handsomely proportioned limestone building is one of the earliest residences in the Ottawa area and a reminder of the estates which once lined Richmond Road. Built by William Thomson, a successful farmer and lumberman, it was subsequently occupied by the Cole and Rochester families. The main interior spaces and rare walled garden are also designated.

Designated Heritage Property 1995
