Romance
Era la noche sombría,
y silenciosa y de calma;

Si amorosos me vieran tus ojos

Yo he jurado por siempre quererte...

y venceréis a vuestros enemigos,
y la Patria será libre y salva.
Yo obtendré la mayor recompensa,
la única a que aspiro,
al veros libres, felices, independientes
y tranquilos.

Unidad de las Razas
Los blancos, morenos, cobrizos,
cruzados, marchando serenos,
unidos y osados, la Patria salvemos
de viles tiranos, y al mundo mostremos
que somos hermanos.

Vencer o Morir
Adelante, patricio constante,
Por la Patria a vencer o morir:
Es infame quien dude un instante,
Que sin Patria es mejor no vivir"

La Libertad
Cantad, sirenas, cantad,
cantad un canto por mí,
que anuncie la libertad
al suelo donde nací.

The Trinitarian Oath
In the name of the Most Holy, August and Indivisible Trinity of God Omnipotent: I swear and promise, on my honor and conscience, in the hands of our President Juan Pablo Duarte, to cooperate with my person, life and property and to struggle for the definitive separation of the Haitian Government and to implement a republic, free and sovereign and independent of all foreign domination, which will be called the Dominican Republic, which will have its tricolor flag of red and blue squares, with a white cross; the Republic will establish its corresponding coat of arms. In the meantime we will be recognized as Trinitarians, with the sacred motto of "God, Homeland and Freedom".
This is what I ratify and promise before God and before the world. If such I do, God protect me, and if I do not, then take it into account and my colleagues to punish me for perjury and treason if I sell them out.

of Coronel. He founded three revolutionary movements: THE TRINITARIAN, THE PHILANTHROPIC AND THE DRAMATIC, with which he achieved, through great sacrifices and his firm will, sowed in our people the love for freedom and the spirit of struggle that gave birth to the Dominican Republic on February 27, 1844. The particular ambitions of many were dedicated to his aspirations of collective good and national development, while he finally suffered exile to Venezuela, where he died on July 15, 1876.

Romance
It was the dark night,
silent and calm;
It was a night of approval
for the people of Ozama.
A night of decline and loss
for the adored homeland.
Remembering it only
makes the heart heavy.
Eight misers extended
their trickster hands,
In pursuit of your companions,
Towards the foreign beach.

They who in the name of God,
Homeland and Liberty will rise
they that gave the people
their longed for independence
thrown from the sky,
whose happiness they will fight for.
Outlaws, yes, or traitors
those who remained loyal.

They watched them descend ... to the silent shore,
they were heard to say goodbye
and of their muffled voices
I picked up the accents
that passed on the wind.

The Nation

can never be an integral part of any other Power, nor the part of a family’s heritage, nor a person themselves, much less a foreigner.

Martyrdom
For the cross, for the homeland and its glory, bold in the field, we march and if we are denied the the laurel, the victory of the palm of martyrdom we will have.

Those That Are Fee
I am a Templar, repeat we must those that in our chest feel honor, those that freely can be emblazoned, those that to the Nation swore freedom.

Supplication
If your eyes see me lovingly
My sorrows will end in good,
Then you will remove from my temple
The crown of thorns that encircles it.

And to my chest you would return the calm
That another time it enjoyed pleasantly,
And today is denied the harsh fate
Insensitive to the pains of the soul.
Do not imitate it, Madam, I beg you,
Do not be afraid of pleasure or bitterness
And by looking at my pure tenderness
Do not meddle like it is calm,
That my love is not in vain
At the feet of this elusive beauty:
Do not tell me Oh no! Have mercy
That you also have me in horror.
That this love is vehemence
That notwithstanding the rigor of my luck,
I have sworn forever to love you ...
In spite of your harsh inclemency!

Be Fair
Be fair first,
if you want to be happy. That is the first
Duty of a man; and be united,
and thus you will put out the spark of discord
and you will defeat your enemies,
and the Nation will be free and safe.

I will achieve the greatest reward,
the only one I aspire to,
to see you free, happy, independent
and at peace.

Unity of the Races
Whites, brown, or of copper,
Crusaders, marching serene,
united and daring, the Fatherland let us save
from vile tyrants, and the world we will show
that we are brothers.

Victory or Death
Forward, constant patrician,
the Nation to win or die:
It is infamous to doubt a moment,
That without a country it is better not to live.

Freedom
Sing, sirens, sing,
sing a song for me,
that announces freedom
to the land where I was born.

Our Homeland
Our Homeland has to be free and independent of any foreign Power or the island will sink.
***
The Dominican Nation is free and independent and is not and can not be an integral part of no other Power,
nor family heritage, or anybody's own property, much less that of a foreigner.

Youth
Keep up your work, young friends, sweet hope of my country, follow with determination and ardor in the beautiful career that you have embarked upon and reach the glory of the goal of gaining as your life’s work for our political regeneration and our national independence, the only guarantee of national freedoms.

Work
Let us work for and by the Homeland,
that is to work for our children
and for ourselves.
***
Let us work, let's work without resting, we should not lose faith in God, in the Justice of our cause and in our own arms.
