Flanking the tablet are two Confederate 12-pounder Napoleons, both made at the Columbus Arsenal, Georgia. Some sources place Johnson's Battery further to the north, nearer the Schultz House.

3. Confederate 12-pounder Napoleon

This example of the Confederate manufacture Napoleon was cast at the Confederate Arsenal, Columbus, Georgia. The piece is a classic example of the "Type 5" Confederate Napoleon. Unlike the Federal type, these Confederate guns have no muzzle swell.
