In this house from 1888, chaired by the initiator of Austrian social policy, Karl Freiherr von Vogelsang (1818 - 1890), the famous 'duck evenings' took place. These were the germ cells of the Christian socialist movement and the Christian Social Party of Austria.

Also the great social encyclical "Rerum Novarum" of Pope Leo XIII received essential suggestions from here.
