enlisted to preserve the Union.
Taken prisoner at Brices
Crossroads, MS. and marched
to Andersonville, GA., Confederate
prison. He gave up his place
of exchange to a friend stating,
"Go to your family". Pvt. Cannon
died at Florence, SC., Confederate
prison of typhoid fever.

"Greater love than this has
no man, that he lay down
his life for a friend."
