1. Dr. Joseph A. Tabor House Marker
Inscription. Built in 1905 by Dr. Joseph A. Tabor, this home is Pascagoula's finest example of a Dutch Colonial Revival Residence, a rare architectural style in South Mississippi.

Dr. Tabor was born in Chicago in 1870 and relocated to New Orleans where he graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine in 1898. Soon after, he enlisted in the Spanish American War serving as a brigadier surgeon and personal surgeon to Generals William Ludlow and William Shafter in Cuba. After the war, he relocated to Pascagoula becoming a prominent physician and active participant in the commercial and social life of the City.

As the owner of one of Pascagoula's major lumber and shipyards, Flechas Saw, Planing and Shipbuilding, M.M. Flechas purchased the home from the Tabor family in 1930. The Flechas Company is located at the intersection of the Pascagoula River and Krebs Lake.
