1. Stuckey Gun Marker

Inscription. In late 1861, Stephen Stuckey of New Albany, Indiana invented a “rifled” cannon which proved to be more accurate than anything in use by the Union Army. The cannon was first test fired in New Albany and the gun exploded. Stuckey then brought the gun to Fort Duffield where it was successfully fired.
