1. Allen English Home Marker
Born in Saginaw, Mich., in 1860, English, a law graduate, moved to Tombstone in 1880. He first worked as a miner, then became a partner in Smith & Goodrich law firm. He also served 3 terms as Cochise County District Attorney.
English's flamboyant, roguish, yet talented style, made him a very powerful attorney of his day. Known for being a heavy drinker, English often took frequent recesses from the courtroom to nurse a hangover at the local drinking holes. English died in 1937.

He was a big man with a rich, sonorous voice and loved making speeches. His courtroom arguments, which went on for hours, were spiced with Latin quotations and references to Shakespeare, motherhood and the flag. It mattered not whether he was defending or prosecuting, and in those days the public prosecutor did both, he threw himself into the rhetoric with abandon. 4. Tombstone Historic District
The house was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on October 15, 1966, as part of the Tombstone Historic District. Tombstone Historic District is significant for its association with the struggle between lawlessness and civility in frontier towns of the wild west.
